All About Reverse Osmosis!

All of our water filtration systems at Refresh Pure Water purify your water through a 5-stage purification process including a Reverse Osmosis (RO) filter, to find out what that means read on as we explain a little bit about what RO is, and why it matters.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a high-quality water filtration process that reduces impurities in drinking water. The process forces water through a specialized semi-permeable membrane resulting in impurities being removed. This membrane is pretty thin, around the thickness of cellophane, and acts as a physical barrier to almost all contaminants in the water including pesticides, salts, chemicals, and hazardous metals. Once the water passes through the membrane it removes most of these contaminants, leaving clean and refreshing water behind. It is one of the most convenient and effective filtration methods available and is the same technology capable of desalinating sea water to be made into drinking water.

Filters that do not use reverse osmosis can filter out coarse particles, sediments, and other elements, but anything finer including most dissolved substances cannot be filtered out.

The benefits of RO-filtered water are:

  • Helps reduce levels of certain chemicals and pesticides

  • Helps reduce levels of dissolved solids in water

  • Helps reduce levels of contaminants such as chloride, fluoride, sodium, and nitrates

  • Improves taste by reducing the number of contaminants, excellent for cooking

  • Reduces unpleasant odors from the water

  • Saves money, no more need for bottles

  • Better for the environment thanks to the reduction in the plastic

At Refresh Pure Water, we want you to have the best drinking water which is why Reverse Osmosis is just one step in our 5-stage filtration process.

"Water is the best natural remedy. Drink your way to better health."
